Ice Cream Cone Everything's Different In Australia!

...when traveling abroad, be aware that some well-known and trusted ice cream companies with international operations may be selling the same ice cream flavors you know and love with different names. There are a variety of reasons for this (there have been some cases in the past where a product name which was socially acceptable in one country meant something nasty in another) but mostly, it might be trying to put a new spin on an old favorite. Case in point, according to Ben & Jerry's World Flavors:

Milk & Cookies - Clever Cookies - A Cookie Affair: Vanilla Ice Cream with a Chocolate Cookie Swirl, Chocolate Chip & Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies

Sometimes a flavor is internationally appreciated however the name is different depending on where in the world you are. What is known as Milk & Cookies in the United States is called Clever Cookies in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Ireland, the United Kingdom and Japan. Youíll have to ask for the same flavor as A Cookie Affair in Scoop Shops in Australia. Whatever you want to call it, itís delicious!

Great post.
Australia is very different in every case. The taste of many brands is different in Australia as compare to other countries. Though we have our own brands as well but many global ice cream brands have different taste here. :-)

I'm curious as to why that is, Mr. SoftServe. Do you attribute that to the ice creams being formulated differently to appeal to local tastes, or to differences in the way the essential ingredients taste due to processing regulations? (For example, when I lived in Japan, the milk there tasted very different than what I was used to because they pasteurized it differently.)
