Ice Cream Cone ‘Soft Swerve’ Ice Cream Shop Debuts on Allen Street, Just in Time for Winter

Perfect timing.
Soft Swerve has been ready to go for weeks now. The nascent ice cream shop at 85B Allen Street first announced itself back in early October, when workers promised an imminent opening. That didn’t happen right away, though, because the electricity system reportedly required an upgrade. That was what a store employee told us at the time, anyway.
Nevertheless, the waiting is now nearing conclusion. With winter on the doorstep. The eight-seat Soft Swerve bows today, and offers flavors like matcha green tea, black sesame, and classic vanilla.
Soft Sweve takes a unique approach when creating its menu. Included in the menu are trendy and popular flavors featuring macha green tea and black sesame along with an exotic flavored ube option in addition to classic vanilla. With these 4 flavor bases, customers can choose from a curated specials menu or customize orders to their liking. One of the oferings from the specials menu contains black sesame ice cream, made with black sesame paste from Yokkaichi, Japan and activated coconut charcoal. It swirled on a special black chocolate waffle cone made exclusively for Soft Swerve before it is topped with mochi andn sprinkled with cococnut flakes. Highly customizable option are also offered. Customer can also choose from the Brunch Special Menu where you pick your favorite breakfast cereal as a base before it is swirled with ice cream and sprinkled with your favorite toppings.
As previously reported, the arrival of Soft Swerve further solidifies (with soft-serve) this area as a burgeoning ice cream destination. Between these guys, 10Below, and Celsius – all within a few blocks of each other – the trifecta is complete.
The problem is that winter in New York City is _way too cold_ for ice cream!
